It’s no secret to those who know me well.  In addition to loving my life as a photographer I am a bit obsessed with interior design & accessories.  I often help friends, clients, strangers “edit” their spaces – clearing out the old, bringing in new elements; allowing for a space that reflects their style and makes them feel uplifted. My personal style is open airy and free; a light palette overall with pops of color, a touch of coastal, a lot of texture and a combination of  sleek and organic accessories. It’s always a thrill to work with people or companies that have products and/or a vision that is in line with my own.  A recent assignment with Canvas Interiors, http://www.canvasinteriors.com/ has me excited to share the launch of their new site featuring their beautiful furnishings, accessories and some of my photos! Here’s to a year filled with Smiles!

I remember it was Summer..visiting one of my Anthropologie stores in NYC.  I came across a table that had a display of a beautiful magazine I had never seen before called ANTHOLOGY. I quickly and curiously grabbed this treasure and started flipping through it.  The design was solid, simple,perfection. The content – features of artists and the story behind their ventures often photographed at their homes.  The photography was fabulous. I immediately thought I NEED to shoot for this magazine.

A loose Summer schedule is an opportunity to get out, explore and meet new artists and entrepreneurs.   While vacationing in The Finger Lakes in upstate NY, I  had the pleasure of being introduced to spirited interior designer turned skin care guru – Amy Smith.  A few years ago Amy launched a line of 100% natural, that’s right 100% natural- farm fresh goat milk soaps (and they are her goats, that live with her on her farm) and other natural elixers with over 100 varieties using only pure essential oils.  Goat Milk Soap, balms & butters, face serums, soaps, bath salts with names like “Marzipan”, “Siren’s Song” and “Free Spirits.”  Amy makes her products in small batches on the premises in her lofted studio and presents the latest goodies downstairs in her retail space.  Her flair for decor, coupled with her gift for creating her natural delights is not to be missed. Newborn shoots are always a fave – especially on location in Taos, NM. Of course my little newborn subjects inevitably take a snooze!

I honestly don’t know where to start! Was it the crisp, clear May day in the North East? The styl’n beautiful pregnant mom of three gorgeous boys decked with matching gray chucks? Maybe it’s the way these sweeties just beamed around their mommy carrying boy number four?

Sweet Ava At Five

As I get ready to head off to NY for a shoot this weekend….I can’t help but think about how excited I am to get home for Ava’s 7th Birthday.  Where Does The Time Go?  Had me thinking about a favorite shot I snapped at play date only a few months ago…no wait, it was actually two years ago now.  Enjoy every moment with those who are precious in your life….flies by too fast!

A new favorite find…. love letterpress paper, hawaiian sea salt chocolate caramels…and HAND CRAFTED CAKE TOPPERS. Found these in Blue Bird Bake Shop (bluebirdbakeshop.com) a local Orlando gem. Of course the red velvet and ultra rich chocolate cupcakes are not to be missed!
